Metroplex Sees Another 9,200+ COVID Cases

(WBAP/KLIF) — The Coronavirus pandemic in Texas spread to more than 14,500 more residents over the weekend.

Health officials in the Lone Star State report almost 1.6 million COVID-19 cases and close to 28,000 deaths. 50 of those fatalities were reported, Sunday.  The Metroplex has a total of over 421,000 cases.  Total cases per county show Dallas at over 178,000, Tarrant county near 158,000, Collin approaching 46,000, and Denton 40,000.

The weekend brought almost 9,200 additional COVID-19 cases to North Texas.  Dallas county reported close to 3,900 newly infected residents, Tarrant county listed almost 4,400 additional cases, while Collin county showed 940 additional positive tests.

Dallas county listed 10 Coronavirus deaths, pushing the county-wide death toll to 1,661. Tarrant county has over 1,500 deaths, Collin county 378, and Denton has lost 218 residents.

Texas is nearing 1.6 million cases and almost 28,000 fatalities.

Metroplex 421,372 positive tests (9,158 new), 3,782 deaths (10 new), 0.9% mortality rate

Texas 1,582,615 positive tests (14,535 new), 27,917 deaths (50 new), 1.8% mortality rate
