(WBAP/KLIF) — A strong winter storm is making its way across the upper Midwest, forcing Texas and Oklahoma to brace for a wintry mix.

Weather officials warn of freezing rain, sleet, ice, and snow in varying degrees throughout North Texas. motorists are advised to use caution if venturing out.
The storm system is creating treacherous travel conditions and spurring warnings for people to stay home in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri.
Snowfall amounts between 6 and 7.5 inches were reported in Nebraska, as the forecast calls for up to a foot of snow in some parts of Iowa.
