North Texas (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas congressman has not acknowledged Joe Biden as ‘president elect.’

During an interview with the Denton Record-Chronicle on Wednesday – a day after Senate Leader Mitch McConnell formally recognized Biden’s presidential win – Rep. Michael Burgess said he’s waiting until Congress formally counts the electoral college votes next month.

President Trump has yet to concede the election, and continues to his fight to overturn it.

Dozens of legal challenges of the election results presented by the Trump campaign have been tossed by state and federal judges, along with the US Supreme Court.

Some Trump allies in Congress plan to contest the results during a joint session that is typically meant to formally affirm the decision of the electors.
