Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – A local radio host and model went viral this week after a Facebook post alleging that he was shot while driving home from the National Finals Rodeo in Arlington.
Facebook user Brian Doty posted pictures from his hospital bed showing his wounds. He wrote that a bullet entered his arm and exited his upper back, just missing his spine.
“I was shot last night on the way home from the NFR. The bullet entered my left shoulder, went through the joint, through the scapula and stopped at my spine. The suspect shot me driving past and kept going. My only concern was to get Presley to safety. While on the phone with 911 they wanted me to pull over. I just didn’t feel safe pulling over with Presley and honestly didn’t know how long I had left. I ended up driving all the way to the hospital and walked in the emergency room. I told them to keep Presley with me the entire time. She held my hand and was my angel for the night. I just want to say to each one of you that reads this… life is short. We all have good and bad inside us and the one we choose to feed is the one that will prevail. So be kind and feed the good. Thank all of you for the overwhelming kindness with messages. I promise to get to each one of them. My job here is not done!”
Doty also says that he had his young daughter in the vehicle with him and that she was not hurt. He drove himself to a hospital.
A statement from Fort worth police confirmed the incident occurred just before midnight on Sunday.
Officer Buddy Calzada writes:
“On December 6, 2020 at 23:09 hours, Central officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Ave. responding to a shooting call. A male was shot on East Fwy and Bridgewood during a road rage incident. The victim was shot by a male occupying a dark SUV. Anyone with information should call Fort Worth Police.
