(WBAP/KLIF) — The COVID-19 hospitalization rate in North Texas has officially reached a steady 15% for seven consecutive days, which has triggered mandatory occupancy restrictions.
According to Governor Greg Abbott’s executive order, all retail stores, restaurants, and other businesses are immediately to reduce from 75% to 50% capacity. In addition, all bars are ordered to close.
DFW Hospital Council CEO Steven Love says frontline workers are exhausted and need relief. Dallas county reported its second highest case total since the pandemic began with 2,122 new cases and 3 deaths, Thursday. Tarrant county listed 1,894 and Denton county had 471 new cases and four deaths.
