Washington (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas has “full resurgence” of COVID-19; so says the White House Coronavirus Task Force in a recent report.

The report calls for proactive testing of Texas teachers, hospital staff and other community members to search for “silent spreaders,” and to place significant limits on the number of people gathering indoors.

Details are in a report, released by the Center for Public Integrity just before Thanksgiving. The WH task force compiles a report for each state based on county data.

On Monday, Governor Abbott did not comment on the report, according to the Dallas Morning News, but spokeswoman Renee

Eze said resources and medication is being sent to hard hit areas, and suggested that local officials step up enforcement of occupancy limits and mask orders.

Meantime, nearly all fifty states are seeing significant increases in COVID cases, with hospital capacity reaching critical levels, and in some cases above capacity.

For months front line health care workers across the country have been vocal about the need to wear masks to help slow the spread.

Texas has surpassed 9,000 hospitalized coronavirus patients for the first time since a deadly summer outbreak. Texas reported more than 15,000 new cases Tuesday, smashing the previous single-day record.

State health officials attributed at least some of the spike to a lag in reporting over the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend
