(WBAP/KLIF) — The FAA confirms that COVID-19 vaccine shipments are headed to the U.S. from Belgium. United Airlines charter flights are carrying the Pfizer vaccine from Brussels, Belgium, to Chicago O’hare airport.
The mass shipments can only be held at storage facilities pending FDA approval, which is expected by mid-December. then the vaccine can be shipped to administration sites.
According to USA Today, Pfizer is manufacturing the COVID-19 vaccine at two plants, one in Michigan and the other in Belgium.
