More than 400 employees have been told they could be furloughed in January if they do not agree to a 10 percent cut in pay.
The furlough warnings were issued to members of the Mechanics Fraternal Association that represents mechanics, maintenance technicians and employees who clean the planes.
Southwest, which is still trying to recover from losses caused by the pandemic, has already cut pay for management and non-union workers.
