
TARRANT COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF)- Tarrant County Public Health Director Vinny Taneja issued a public health warning after a rise in Covid-19 cases.
Taneja says this isn’t an order but strongly advises people and businesses to take action in order to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
Actions the public should take:
- Stay Home and only go out of essential items, essential work or school
- If you must go out, wear a mask and keep a 6 Ft. distance between others
- Avoid Gatherings: indoor dining, bars, gyms, in-person church
- Celebrate the holidays with immediate family only
- Avoid all non-essential travel and test negative prior to travel if you must
Actions Businesses to Take:
- Cut capacity
- Consider 50% for essential business and 25% for non essential business
- Enforce mask wearing to keep open
- Restaurants to consider outdoor dining and take out/delivery method
- Bars should consider voluntarily closures during the surge
Actions for Schools to take:
- Consider voluntary shut down of sporting events
- If not, consider no audience events
- Options to rapid test athletes before games, practices
- Enforce mask wearing during recess and sporting events/practices
- Discourage/penalize after school parties
- Parents: consider online schooling, cancel social gatherings, don’t send symptomatic kids to school
