(WBAP/KLIF) — A number equivalent to 3.2% of the Texas population has tested positive for COVID-19. After conducting more than 8.3 million tests, almost 917,000 have come back positive. Nearly 18,200 have resulted in deaths, a 2% mortality rate.
State health officials reported more than 7,200 newly confirmed positive tests, Tuesday, with 97 additional deaths. Dallas county has 719 new cases, Tarrant county listed 716 new positives, Denton county 220, and Collin county reported 61 additional positives.
With Tuesday’s Coronavirus totals, the Metroplex has surpassed 200,000 confirmed positive COVID-19 tests. North Texas reports almost 2,200 COVID-19 deaths. In all, Dallas county shows over 98,000 pandemic positives since March, Tarrant county close to 70,000, Collin county almost 19,000, and Denton county over 17,000 total Coronavirus cases.
Dallas county has lost over 1,100 residents, Tarrant county reports 742 fatalities, Collin county 189, and Denton county 138 deaths.
