Texas Eclipses 893,000 COVID Cases & Approaches 18,000 Deaths

(WBAP/KLIF) — Texas pushed over 893,000 COVID-19 positive tests, Friday, with 5,900 more on the final work day of the week.  The Metroplex saw just under 1,800 newly confirmed positive tests.

Dallas county listed 832 newly confirmed positive tests, Tarrant county 700, Denton county 134, and Collin county 115 additional positives.  That puts the North Texas total over 198,000 confirmed positives, more than 96,000 of which are from Dallas county. Tarrant county is approaching 67,000 positives, Collin over 18,000, and Denton lists nearly 17,000 cases.

The statewide death toll sits just under 18,000, as 115 additional fatalities were reported Friday.  Dallas county reported 6 additional COVID-related deaths, while the Metroplex as a whole has a pandemic death toll of just under 2,200.  Dallas county has over 1,100 of those fatalities, while Tarrant county has 738 deaths, Collin 184, and 132 Denton residents lost.
