(WBAP/KLIF) — The Coronavirus pandemic has even changed the way we drink. With COVID-19 restrictions in place, restaurants have adapted to stay afloat. One of the new changes is alcohol delivery.
As many restaurants and some bars have opted into alcohol delivery, the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission wants to ensure the process is done safely and properly.
Business owners can have delivery drivers take the Texas Responsible Alcohol Delivery certification course online for $25, which is valid for two years. The course teaches how to properly check identification and ensure deliveries aren’t made to intoxicated people.
According to the Dallas Morning News, employees working as delivery drivers are required to obtain a trad certification in order to deliver alcohol.
