(WBAP/KLIF) — After months of holding online services, a Texas mega-church held in-person meetings, Sunday. Lakewood church, one of the nation’s largest mega-churches, opened at 25% capacity under new Houston city Coronavirus guidelines.
According to pastor Joel Osteen, about 4,000 people were allowed to attend each service and were required to socially distance and wear masks inside the church’s arena.
The arena was once home to the Houston Rockets and has a seating capacity of 16,000. Osteen expressed appreciation for service-goers, saying that he missed seeing them in person.
