DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Dallas County voters who are planning to cast their ballots early now have some help in getting to the polls.
Dallas Area Rapid Transit is adding a free shuttle service for voters traveling to the Dallas County Election Department at 1520 Round Table Drive starting Monday, October 19th through Election Day, November 3rd.
On weekdays, voters can ride the Green or Orange line to Southwestern Medical District/Parkland Station or Burbank Station then transfer to bus route 525.
Then, voters are asked to travel to the Regal Row at Stemmons Freeway DART bus stop near the Wyndham Hotel to transfer to a special taxi style van to complete their trip to the county’s election facility.
The service is provided every 30 minutes.
On weekends, DART will offer a special van service from Burbank Station every 20 minutes to and from the election facility.
The service is a response to the record turnout of early voters and those dropping off ballots.
It’s a joint effort between DART and Dallas County.
DART is advising customers to use Google Transit, the online DART Trip planner, the DART voting site or call 214-979-1111 for more information.
