DALLAS/FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Trinity Railway Express and Dallas Area Rapid Transit will return to its pre-pandemic service levels Monday, October 19th.
The Saturday schedules remains unchanged.
DART’s Mark Ball said it’s part of a bi-annual servuice change the agencies implement to increase their levels of service to customers, even amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“DART will be returning to 90 percent pre-pandemic service levels…that includes 65 bus routes with higher ridership plus the Trinity Railway Express returning to 100 percent service levels,” he said.
Ball said higher volume bus routes will change to 20 minute frequencies until 7 p.m. and thirty minute frequencies after that.
Although the agency will allow for more riders on its trains, the TRE and DART said it will continue its enhanced COVID-19 cleaning protocols, including the use of hospital-grade spray disinfectant, foaming germicidal cleaner and disinfecting wipes on all high-touch surfaces.
Riders are still required to wear face coverings over both the mouth and nose while on board.
The agency is encouraging passengers who feel sick or are experiencing symptoms to stay home and avoid public places.
Any rider who sees an unhygienic surface that needs attention should contact DART customer service at (214) 979-1111.
