First Ever Drive Thru Air Show Attracts Large Crowds

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) Fans in the stands became passengers in the car for this years drive thru edition Bell Fort Worth Alliance Air Show which took place over the weekend at Alliance Airport. The air show had to improvise with the social distancing guidelines imposed the state and local leaders.

But Haslet resident and commercial pilot Mark Hendricks says that not having the crowds made it easier to spot planes and wasn’t a big deal, in fact in some ways made it more enjoyable.

“Frankly, I didn’t mind have the drive thru air show concept being able to stay out by our cars and we didn’t have to worry about crowds and standing in long lines in the heat.”

The air show highlighted several Fort Worth aviation companies including Bell Helicopters and Lockheed Martin and their supersonic fighter jet, the F-22 Raptor.
