LEWISVILLE (WBAP/KLIF) – The Denton County Elections Administration temporarily closed a polling location in Lewisville on Thursday over concerns surrounding COVID-19.
According to election officials, the Fred P. Herring Recreation Center at 191 Civic Circle in Lewisville was closed after a poll worker tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
“As part of the standard contact tracing performed with each positive case by Denton County Public Health, any individual who has had extended exposure will be notified and asked to quarantine,” a statement from the department said.
The location was thoroughly sanitized and is expected to reopen at 7 a.m. on Friday with new poll workers.
