DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Democrat leaders in Texas spent Tuesday afternoon working to made good on a pledge to turn the state blue.
Congressman Colin Allred, Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, and others were joined by Dr. Jill Biden, wife of Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden, for a “Get Out the Vote” Rally at Fair Park.
As a COVID-19 safety precaution, the event was held as a drive-in rally. Cars filled a Fair Park parking lot. Attendees honked their horns instead of giving applause. They listened to Biden via FM frequency.
“Are you ready for this election?” Asked Biden. “One state, this great state, could decide our future for generations to come.”
Biden’s trip to Dallas came on the same day early voting opened in Texas. She also made trips to El Paso and Houston.
While Democrats urge Americans to vote, Republicans are doing the same. Leaders from both parties seem to agree on the notion that this election is the most important of a lifetime.
