Governor Abbott’s Order Limiting Mail-In Ballot Drop Off Locations Remains In Force

Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas counties are once again not allowed to set up more than one drop off location for mail-in ballots. A federal judge in Austin Friday ruled Governor Abbott’s one-per-county order was voter suppression. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed that a few hours later to give the state time to make a formal appeal. So Texas counties are once again limited to one drop off location each. The Governor says the limit is necessary to “ensure strong ‘ballot security protocol.” Early voting in Texas starts Tuesday. Election day is November 3.
