DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Early voting in the November 3 General Election begins Tuesday in Texas.
Governor Greg Abbott issued an emergency proclamation in late July extending the early voting period for the election by an extra week, and allowing a voter to deliver a marked mail ballot in person prior to and on Election Day.
Accordingly, marked mail ballots sealed may be hand-delivered to an Elections Department by the voter prior to the start of early voting, during early voting and on Election Day, no later than 7 p.m. The voter must provide an acceptable form of ID upon hand delivery.
Polling locations, including several voting mega centers will be open through the duration of the early voting period in North Texas counties.
Election officials in North Texas expect higher voter turnout than seen in recent elections.
