Nearly 164,000 Positive Coronavirus Test Results in DFW

(WBAP/KLIF) —  Coronavirus has resulted in nearly 164,000 positive tests in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.  Health departments across the Metroplex reported almost 2,200 newly confirmed positive tests of COVID-19, Sunday.

453 positives occurred in Dallas county, 601 in Tarrant county, and Collin county reported 20 newly confirmed tests.  In all, Dallas county is approaching 84,000 positive results over the course of the pandemic, Tarrant county more than 52,000, Collin county over 15,500, while Denton sits at over 12,000 positives.

Dallas county’s Coronavirus mortality rate has dropped to 1.2%. With almost 84,000 positive tests, 1,036 residents have died.

Tarrant county’s rate is a tick higher.as health officials report a death toll of 672 residents for a 1.3% fatality rate. Collin county’s death rate also dropped to 1% with 152 overall fatalities. Denton county reports the lowest mortality rate at 0.9% with 109 deaths.

The Metroplex lists almost 2,000 deaths, with a fatality rate of 1.2%.
