DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) -Many Texans are finding it difficult to pay rent during the coronavirus pandemic.
According to information gathered by the firm Stout Risius Ross 1 in 6 renters were behind on their payments last month.
Rachel Khirallah is a real estate attorney and says the worst is yet to come for both renters and home buyers.
“By the middle towards the end of next year is really when we are going to see it hit. That means foreclosures are going to be at an all time high. We are expecting a 100% increase in foreclosures and we are expecting a rise in evictions starting in January.”
As of right now, landlords are not allowed to evict residents who meet a certain coronavirus criteria, until January.
