Volunteers Needed for Community-Wide ‘Unite Arlington’ Initiative

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- A new initiative led by a group of Arlington churches is looking for 600+ volunteers to ‘unite’ this weekend, October 3rd & 4th.

‘Unite Arlington’ director Art Hooker said they will have at least 85 projects for volunteers to participate in such as park clean ups, home repairs for seniors, school beautification and more. “In a time where it seems so divided in the country and community and all of the things that are happening, Unite Arlington is an initiative to bring people together for the good of the city,” said Hooker.

The event will take place from 8 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday but Hooker says they want to keep this going in the future.

“The most important thing to come out of us working together is one, doing something good together but the big opportunity is when you work with someone else to create something new not only do you get a new result but you also get a new relationship,” said Hooker.
