Talty, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Two Talty children found fending for themselves after mother dies, according to police.
Authorities were alerted by Forney ISD after teachers hadn’t seen the 71-year old woman’s children in a week. Teachers had called to check on the children and when they did not get answer, the district called on the police to do a welfare check. 
The Talty police department and the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the death of the woman who has not been identified.
She was found dead in her home Friday afternoon, .along with the children, ages 6 and 7, who were in the home alone.
