Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – After a marathon nearly 11-hour virtual meeting, the Fort Worth Independent School District board of trustees early Wednesday voted to extend
online instruction for 2 additional weeks.
The lengthy meeting adjourned at 3:54 a.m., on the heels of hearing from about 200 district parents who signed up for public comment portion of the meeting.
A 4-week extension of e-learning was voted down last week; overnight a compromise 2-week extension was approved. District 6 Trustee Anne Darr proposed the compromise:
Superintendent Kent Scribner proposed a hybrid learning option starting Oct. 5 that would allow students to choose between learning in the classroom or virtually at home.
Face-to-face classes will begin on October 16.
