FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Two Fort Worth officers are being accused of using excessive force.
A video circulating over social media, shows a scuffle between two Fort Worth Officers and two women at the American Gardens Bar in Fort Worth’s West 7th District.
The video shows what appears to be an officer punching a woman and then throwing her on the floor while attempting to make an arrest.
The Fort Worth Police Department sent WBAP/KLIF a statement saying they are aware of the video and this incident is currently being reviewed by Internal Affairs and the officer’s chain of command.
“The Fort Worth Police Department takes every use of force incident seriously and our policy requires that all use of force incidents be thoroughly reviewed by the involved officer’s chain of command and our use of force coordinator/use of force review board to ensure that all policies and procedures are followed. Additionally, we use this review process to identify any areas where we can improve our training and practices,” the Fort Worth Police Department said.
