WASHINGTON D.C. (WBAP/KLIF) – Senator Ted Cruz, of Texas, is one of twenty newly named potential nominees for the Supreme Court if President Trump is re-elected.

The president made the announcement on Wednesday, while touting the significance of the high court.

“What has always made America exceptional is our reverence for the impartial rule of law,” the President said.

There are currently no vacancies on the Supreme Court.

“Should there be another vacancy on the Supreme Court during my Presidency, my nominee will come from the names I have shared with the American public,” said President Trump. “Including the original list.”

The President has previously released other names for consideration.

Senator Cruz said Wednesday that he’s honored to be on the list, but didn’t indicate if he would accept a nomination.
