Tarrant County Corporal Officer Dies From Covid-19

TARRANT COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF)- The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of corporal officer Charles Holt. Holt was diagnosed with COVID-19 this week and died Tuesday. He was 36 years old.

Lieutenant Jennifer Gabbert said Holt worked in the booking division and served on the Intelligence team since 2014. “It’s very hard to social distance in law enforcement…we’re up close and personal to people on a regular basis, it’s just part of the job,” said Gabbert.

Gabbert said Holt proudly showed up under tough conditions and performed his duties in a positive and honorable manner.

“He leaves behind his wife, Moranda, three children, many friends and TCSO team members. He will be greatly missed,” she said.

Mrs. Holt asked if the TCSO share the touching moment when she arrived home from the hospital to break the news to her children. They told her, “It’s OK momma, we already know dad has completed his assignment here.”

Please keep the family, friends and coworkers of Corporal Holt in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
