FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – Bars across Texas plan to defy statewide orders that require them to be closed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Texas bars have been closed for months but Governor Greg Abbott maintains that opening them right now isn’t safe. Bar owners are hurting. Many of them are struggling to keep their businesses afloat.
It’s” disgusting,” said Fort Worth’s Rail Club LIVE Owner, Chris Polone. “Everyday people are losing more and more of their civil liberties over fear of COVID-19.”
Polone is organizing an event dubbed ‘Come and Take It’ where 1,200 bars statewide are expected to open on Saturday. They pledge to stay open permanently.
Owners in defiance of the state order could face license suspension.
