DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Professional sports in DFW were put on hold Thursday, at least for one night, as athletes continue to protest social injustice.
The Police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin has prompted professional athletes across the country to postpone games in protest over racism in America.
“We need justice for Jacob Blake,” Dallas Wings Rookies Satou Sabally insisted.

The Wings, the Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Mavericks games were all called off on Thursday.
Mavericks Coach Rick Carlisle said this week that it’s important for athletes to use their platform to demand change.
“It’s exactly why we’re here, in many ways” said Carlisle. “To continue conversations and to create greater action for racial justice.”

Meanwhile, critics maintained there’s no place in sports for politics.
The Rangers will resume play Saturday while the Mavericks are expected to play this weekend.
