DALLAS – (WBAP/KLIF) – A public safety committee meeting is scheduled on Tuesday to discuss a report reviewing critical decisions made by the Dallas Police Department during the George Floyd protests this spring.
The report analyzes DPD resposne to clashes with protesters, looters, rioters and peaceful protesters. Among them, the highly visible clash and teargassing of protesters walking across the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. Tear gas, projectiles and smoke met protesters this spring, with nearly 700 people awaiting criminal charges that did not materialize.
The report suggests banning pepper balls and certain stingers launched into crowds although the projectiles are still allowed in use when not indiscriminately fired.
