Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair Still Planned with Modifications

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson said Thursday that he is excited to host the 24th annual Mayor’s Back to School Fair later this month. But the event will look a little different amid the coronavirus pandemic than it has in years past.

The event provides Dallas students and families with essential back-to-school supplies.

Families must show three documents to qualify for school supplies; a picture ID, proof of City of Dallas residency and proof they meet the 2018 Federal Poverty Guidelines. For more information, click here.

The Mayor’s Back to School Fair will take place August 20 and 21.

“You will be required to wear a mask,” said Mayor Johnson. “You’ll need to wear your mask properly which means the mask covers your nose and your mouth.”

The August 20 event will allow walk-ups and the August 21 event will be drive-up only. Families are asked to register ahead of time.
