(AUSTIN)- Three Texas Parks and Wildlife scientists surveying desert bighorn sheep in West Texas died in the crash of a helicopter Saturday; the pilot survived.
The crash occurred in the West Texas “Black Gap Wildlife Management Area” of Brewster County, near Alpine, Texas.
The dead are identified as veterinarian Dr. Bob Dittmar, biologist Dewey Stockbridge and technician Brandon White. Texas Department of Public Safety, Federal Aviation Administration and Texas Game Wardens are investigating the crash.
