Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Five Fort Worth police cruisers responded to a Whataburger in the city Tuesday after a worker refused to leave.
19-year old Ma’kia Congious served up a two-week notice during a contentious conversation with Whataburger manager’s after a customer complained about her Black Lives Matter mask, which, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Congious had worn previously with no issues.
Contagious was working curbside-pickup when a customer told her that her mask was “inappropriate,” and that Whataburger’s corporate office was going to be notified.
Congious recorded part of the conversation she then had with the restaurant managers after going back into the restaurant to report the incident.
At time, according to the newspaper, the restaurant manger was present, along with two other officials higher up in the chain who visit the location on Brentwood StaIr Road on occasion.
Congious was told by management that she is entitled to her personal opinion and that her mask is fine outside of work.
