SAN ANTONIO (WBAP/KLIF News) – A San Antonio man is charged with making a “terroristic threat” for allegedly threatening a mass shooting at Fort Hood in retaliation for the murder of Spc. Vanessa Guillen.
According to an affidavit, investigators said 48-year-old Mario Eloy Pena posted the threat and stated he was close to “becoming an active shooter” on Facebook July 30th.
KSAT News in San Antonio reports police were notified about the threat by Pena’s wife and officers later arrested him at his home.
Guillen vanished vanished from Fort Hood April 22nd and her body was found near the Leon River, about 20 miles near the base, in late June.
Authorities said she was killed on the base by fellow soldier, Spc. Aaron Robinson, who allegedly asked his girlfriend, Cecily Aguilar, to help dispose the body.
Robinson died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound as Killeen officers moved in to arrest him. Aguilar is charged with one count of tampering with evidence.
