MONT BELVIEU, Texas (AP) – Fire officials announced a contractor is to blame after natural gas pipeline erupted in flames near Houston.

The accident happened when the contractor cut the line owned by Lone Star NGL Wednesday in Mont Belvieu, about 30 miles east of Houston.

It’s an area dotted by natural gas facilities.

No injuries or secondary damage was reported but the blazed closed Texas 146 while firefighters waited for the flames to burn themselves out.
