(WBAP/KLIF) — The COVID-19 fatality rate has dropped to historic lows and hospital bed capacity is improving. The number of Texans dying from the Coronavirus appear to be dropping. Of the almost 342,000 Texans who have contracted COVID-19, just 1.2% of them have died.
The 4,152 fatalities represents just .01% of the Texas population. The mortality rate in North Texas has continued to drop, and is now at 1.2%. Denton county’s death rate is even lower at .08%.
Dallas area hospital bed capacity is also improving at 25 local hospitals, dropping from 70% in late June to 66% as of Monday. ICU bed capacity has improved, dropping from 71% to 68%.
