Frisco (WBAP/KLIF) – Thursday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath shared information with state lawmakers regarding instruction for the next school year. The information was somehow leaked to the media and the Frisco ISD is not happy about it. In an email sent to parents with students in the district, Superintendent Mike Waldrop wrote, “it’s unfortunate that the state decided to release this information to the media while having districts wait until next Tuesday to receive details of the plan. The District anticipated announcing that we would offer 100% face to face instruction, with the option for 100% online instructions through a Virtual Academy, pending a a scheduled call with the TEA next week.” The district says families should expect a commitment form for their students next week to indicate whether their child will attend school at a campus or through a virtual academy for the upcoming school year.
