DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- Dallas Buses are becoming safer during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dallas area rapid transit has installed respiratory droplet shields throughout the entire bus fleet in order to protect riders and drivers.
The shields were designed by DART engineering in cooperation with Fleet Maintenance and Operations Teams. The shields are made with a high impact Plexiglas and will be installed in between the driver and passengers.
Along with this operators will continue to provide enhanced cleaning procedures for both buses and trains.
DART officials say that about 75% of the fleet have these shields installed and they plan on having 100% done by July 1st.
