DFW Unemployment Hits April High

(WBAP/KLIF) — The Texas economy continues to suffer amid the Coronavirus pandemic. Nearly 1.3 million Texans have lost their jobs over the past month.

The 13% unemployment rate in Texas is better than the national average of 14.7%.  The DFW area is faring a little better at 12.8%.

Meanwhile, T-W-C chairman Bryan Daniel says the state is working to connect unemployed Texans with job openings across the state.  Daniels says, “the COVID-19 pandemic has had a measurable effect on the Texas economy”.
