DALLAS – WBAP/KLIF – Concerned about Mesquite Independent School District students having enough food to make it through the rest of the school season without classes or the meals that come with them, Malik Jefferson and Rashard Higgins will be at Mesquite’s Lake Pointe Church, Town East Campus this Sunday, collecting non perishable food donations from 2 to 5 pm
Spokesman Mike Swenson says Higgins and Jefferson wanted to do something for their community during the pandemic, and decided collecting donations of food supplies might be enough of a draw to garner the goal of at least one thousand pounds of food.
Volunteers with the church will sanitize all donations, box and then distribute them to families that need the help.
Lake Pointe Church, Town East Campus is located at 3450 East Emporium Circle, Mesquite, Texas.
