Littering of Gloves, Masks Prompt Concerns in North Texas

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – As more North Texans are personal protective equipment during the coroanvirus pandemic, frustration is growing over littering.

If you haven’t seen face masks or gloves lying in store parking lots or on the sidewalk you may have noticed pictures of them posted online as many North Texans are calling for the littering to stop.

“People need to use the trash cans,” said a concerned Dallas shopper. “They’re outside almost every exit of all the stores.”

Some shoppers are afraid the littering could further the spread of the virus.

“It can stay on surfaces for like ten days or something like that so it’s just not a good practice,” a Dallas man warned.

Police Departments across the country are beginning to warn that littering can bring hefty fines. Some environmentalists worry that the materials will make their way to lakes and ponds.
