NORTH TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – As healthcare workers put their lives on the line with the daily stressors of being on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic, a web company is allowing users to set up thank you boards to show local hospitals how much their work is appreciated.
Kudoboard.com founder and former teacher Aaron Rubens said his company, which he founded in 2015 as a thank you space for teachers, is especially poignant right now as the medical professionals work to heal record numbers of patients.
“There’s just an incredible amount of mental stress and even potential burnout that goes with the hours and the uncertainty, especially in places where they’re low on ppe and trying to make do with various make shift solutions,” he said.
Since the company was founded, thank you boards have been created for various sectors including teachers, first responders and numerous local hospitals.
Rubens said the notes left by the public have a tremendous impact on healthcare workers.
“I can’t count the number of times we’ve gotten emails that said ‘this is the most special gift I’ve ever received’ or ‘I cried when I saw this’ or ‘I just had no idea of the impact I was having,” he said.
