ARLINGTON – WBAP/KLIF – A local entrepreneur is urging people out of work because of the Covid 19 pandemic to think about what motivates, excites; interests them, and create their own business. Corinne James owns Natural Hippie Momma in Arlington, Texas; a natural health product business borne from her concern about health needs of a family member. James says medical treatments for the child also caused a lowering of immunities, and she wanted to find health products that would raise immunities as treatment continued. She researched online to find elderberry syrup might help, and she began making it herself.
James says the business began before it was official: sharing bottles of elderberry syrup with family and friends. They urged her to sell at the Dallas Farmer’s Market, and James began doing that in 2019. In just that short time frame, she gained so much popularity she now sells online and will return to market sales once public gatherings are again allowed. James says with the pandemic now underway, sales of her products are doing well. But it was selling directly to the public that caused the business to become better known outside the Metroplex. “People…(from other states)…were headed to the airport, and they began telling their friends”. The product line has expanded and may continue to expand; right now attention is on filling orders.
“I say go for it. It’s okay to work for someone else. I taught for 13 years in the state of Texas. But this is my passion. I love doing what I do. I can set my own hours. I’m also helping a lot of people and that gives me so much joy. I tell people find your niche; what you like, what you enjoy.”
