2 Additional COVID-19 Cases in Fort Worth Police Department

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Two more Fort Worth Police Officers have tested positive for COVID-19

Fort Worth Police say the officers haven’t worked since April 1st and are doing well at home recovering.

The Department now has 6 total cases and has implemented several protocols to limit exposure. “Any building that has had a lot of access to it is being cleaned regularly and access is limited…we are also limiting the amount of roll calls so officers aren’t congregating,” said Fort Worth Police Officers Association President Manny Ramirez.

Police are required to wear face masks and gloves and try to keep a 6 foot distance when out responding to calls. The department has created a dedicated team to investigate and backtrack the movements and encounters of each infected officer and they are disinfecting the vehicles and offices of each officer.
