Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – In rural Jack County, just northwest of Fort Worth an oil field services company has joined the fight against COVID-19.

Chris Payson runs Reach Wireline – a fracking services support company – from his Jacksboro home. He told WFAA-TV that the recent oil industry slump has forced some layoffs.

Things changed after a recent call from a Wise county doctor-friend who asked if his company could make something new – a plexi-glass containment box for the safety of those treating COVID-19 patients.

Payson says that within days they’ve shipped orders as far away as Idaho and Pennsylvania.

A GoFundMe campaign is raising funds to buy supplies, and a YouTube post provides a how-to make the apparatus in an effort to get it out more quickly.
