
Dallas – Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – E-learning prevails for many school districts around the nation, including the DWF area, as the coronavirus emergency continues.
Online learning kicked in for many school districts as COVID-19 cases increased, and more shelter-at-home orders were initiated.
The seemingly seamless transition to online classes for thousands of school kids makes a retired teacher who called in to our newsroom very sad.
“Carla from Prosper, as she identified herself, taught elementary school for 35 years in San Antonio area.
Her heart beats at the thought of the many children who may not be able to forge those traditional lifelong bonds with other students that come with attending school, as she herself teared up at the thought of her own lifelong teacher friends.
She says that even today, she is friends with many of her former students who aren’t shy about reminding her about the ‘swats on the rear‘ she served up back in the day.
