Fort Worth Independent School District To Give Pass/Fail Grades

FORT WORTH – Fort Worth Independent School District says it will give students a pass or fail grade for their work away from school during the Covid 19 pandemic, in which classes are canceled.  Details of the unusual grading system at this time have been sent to parents and are posted on the district’s website.

Students in the first through eighth grades will be promoted based on average grades in the first through fourth grading periods.

HIgh school students will receive credit for the second semester for each class if they have a passing grade.

GPA’s and class ranks for high school students will not include grades from the second semester this year.
Valedictorians, salutatorians and local honors for graduating seniors will be based on class ranks and GPA’s from the first semester.

Teachers are now entering grades completed by students before Spring Break.  That will determine if a pass or fail grade for the fifth-grading cycle.  Students need a 70 or above to pass.
