HHS Secretary Not Criticizing Texas Response To Covid 19

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF)  Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar says he’s not going to criticize any Governor or Mayor for the way they have handled the covid-19 crisis.  He told KLIF’s “Dave and Amy” that each state, including Texas has responded using the on ground epidemiology it’s getting and the administration needs to give great deference to those decisions.  He also was very hopeful about an old treatment that’s being used in some critically ill patients called “convalescent plasma transfusion”.  That’s when you take plasma from someone who has recovered from the virus and inject it into a patient who has the virus.  Azar says this a way to put that person’s immune system on hyperdrive to fight the virus.  So far, he says results of these treatments aren’t now.  Also today, Azar tweeted the Justice dept. and HHS partnered  to distribute more than half a million medical supplies confiscated from price gougers to those on the frontlines of covid19 response in New York and New Jersey—including approximately 192,000 N95 respirator masks.
