Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick Suggests Seniors Like Him Are Willing to Die to Get the Economy Moving

Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick agrees with President Trump who believes that the economy needs to get moving again, even in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

During the coronavirus briefing Monday Trump said, :”Our country wasn’t meant to be shut down.”

“This is not a country that was built for this. America will again and soon be open for business. Very soon. A lot sooner than three or four months that somebody was suggesting.”  A move that would go against the advice of health experts.

Health experts continue to warn about the need for social distancing to curb the rapid spread of the virus.

There is also increasing evidence that young people can be severely impacted by the virus.

Patrick told Fox News’ ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ that as grandparent he’s willing to make sacrifices for the next generation:

“No one reached out to me and said a senior citizen, are you willing to take a chance on your survival in exchange for keeping that America that all America loves for your children and grandchildren. And if that’s the case, “I’m all in.”

Twitter blew up in reaction to the comments. We searched many posts to find one in support of Patrick’s comments to no avail at #DanPatrick
